Essential Publications was established in 1989. An idea born between two friends, Wayne Davis and Graham Needham, in a Cafe in Newport, South Wales!
Initially set up as company to design and publish the fanzine "Destination Jarre" about the French musician Jean-Michel Jarre after eight issues (over two years) the fanzine closed due to a lack of support from Jarre's record company.
After this the two went on to produce two 60 page books - "The Unofficial Jean-Michel Jarre Biography" and "Exhibit Jean-Michel Jarre". These two books were hugely popular (and still crop up for sale on ebay to this day!).
After this period the company went on to produce another title "Cybernoise" dedicated to all forms of electronic music.
In the late 1990's both Wayne and Graham were still in contact, but doing 'other projects'. Mainly based around web design, desktop publishing, computer training and marketing.
Over the last few years Graham has set up his own businesses and Wayne continued to work for his old company.
In 2003 Wayne decided to revitalise the old Essential Publications name and set up the business again. Along with the help of Kevin Sudds, who has previous experience for big multi national companies, you have the company that you see before you today.
Essential Publications has already worked for small companies and clubs, as well as larger national companies (check out our portfolio page).
Between the two of them they have over 30 years experience in design, training, publishing and marketing. With experience on both PC and Mac based systems we use the latest software to develop the best possible solution for our customers.
In short, we may be a small part time start up company, but we have a lot of experience and enthusiasm for our work which we hope is reflected in our costs.
